WorkMatters Startup Meetup on Tuesday 5th March in Gorey Library

Join us for our next WorkMatters Startup Meetup on Tuesday 5th March in Gorey Library at 7pm. Breege Cosgrave, Local Enterprise Office Wexford will tell us about the supports available for startups and small businesses. Eugene Crehan, who manages the New Frontiers Entrepreneur Development Programme at WIT will speak about this national programme which supports early-stage entrepreneurship.

Breege Cosgrave

Breege is Senior Enterprise Development Officer with the Local Enterprise Office. She has wealth of experience working with entrepreneurs from business idea stage right through to growth with previous employs including;  The Irish Trade Board and Enterprise Ireland.  In her current role, she provides advice to entrepreneurs and small businesses on all aspects of business planning and development, funding applications and assist them in increasing their capabilities through availing of a range of training supports offered by the LEO Wexford.

She also manages a number of specific programmes including the Mentor Programme, Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur, Women in Business Network and the Student Enterprise Programme.  In addition to this, she represents the organisation on a number of National Committees including FLAG, Student Enterprise Committee, and the National Food Strategy Group. In 2017 she completed an MBA in Business Practice with the Irish Management Institute specialising in areas such as Innovation, Business Strategy, Change Management, and Organisational Behaviour.

 

Dr. Eugene Crehan

Eugene is Director of Programmes at the Centre for Enterprise Development and Regional Economy (CEDRE) and manages the New Frontiers Programme. He is highly experienced in working with start-ups and early-stage businesses as an advisor and an investor. His research interests are in the areas of investment and competitiveness in early stage high potential businesses.

He has lectured in Marketing and Strategic Management at WIT and UCC. He has significant experience in international business development having held senior management positions with organisations such as Diageo (Baileys), Waterford Crystal and A.T. Cross.

He has lived in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East and has conducted business in over 50 countries during 18 years of international roles. He is Doctor of Business Administration, has an MBA in International Marketing and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business in Enterprise Development. He is a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Training & Development and an NCGE Entrepreneurship Educator Fellow (UK).

He was appointed Waterford City Coordinator of Startup Gathering by Minister Jed Nash TD. He served as a Director for Waterford Chamber and was a core member of the marketing committee for the Waterford Tall Ships Race.

Catherine Duggan

Catherine mentors and coaches individuals in the startup sector. Her main areas of expertise are in the entrepreneurship, digital, and IT sectors. She keeps up-to-date with technology trends and is a regular contributor to Irish Tech News.
