TG4 Offer Year Long Work Experience Positions to Graduates and Newcomers

TG4 is inviting applications from graduates, or newcomers to the industry, to participate in a year-long work experience programme with the station.

Four of these work experience positions are available annually in TG4. This is a wonderful opportunity for people starting out in the audiovisual industry, who want to get hands-on, practical experience to add to the training they have already received.

Successful applicants will get to work with TG4 Social Media teams including presenters Caitlín Nic Aoidh and Mícheál Ó Ciaraidh and Digital Co-ordinator Maidhcí Mac Conmara.

Trainees are being sought in the following areas:

Social Media Co-ordinator (Three positions)

People with fluent Irish and a proven interest in social media are being sought for these positions. It is expected that applicants would have good researching and writing skills, as well as an understanding of how to tell a captivating story. In return, successful applicants will gain valuable experience in current production methodologies, where the production and publication of material on digital platforms is being co-ordinated.

Software Developer / Internet Developer (One position)

Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of technologies for apps and internet programming, relating in particular to the TG4 Player. They will also gain invaluable experience in developing systems to distribute content across a range of multimedia platforms (Mobile devices, Desktop computers, and networks). Participants will be paid a salary for the year-long placement and will also be able to avail of supplementary training opportunities during that time.

The work experience will run from August 2019 to August 2020. All applicants must have fluent Irish to be eligible for this Year Long Work Experience Scheme.
